What’s Your Skin Protocol?

Skin is our natural barrier from the outside world.  Being the largest organ of the body, it’s a visual representation of what’s going on inside the body and a strong indicator of your health. Whether it’s your face, body or feet, knowing your skin and how to cater to its uniqueness will help you achieve optimal results of glowing, radiant skin.

Why pay this much attention to your skin?

It regulates many important functions of the body such as:

  • Regulates temperature
  • Protects from bacteria and environmental toxins
  • Manufactures and distributes your body’s natural oils
  • Provides a secure environment for millions of nerves, blood vessels, hair follicles and more
  • Provides structural support to the body
  • Provides the vital role of internal cleansing system
  • Regulates the body’s water retention

How is your skin affected on a day to day basis?

Many factors affect the skin and its function.  Some of the culprits of skin issues would include, sun damage (UV radiation), diet, environment, cigarette smoking, hormones, medications & supplements, disease or illnesses, and poor hygiene.

How is your skin affected by the seasonal changes?

Winter -  skin keeps us warm by holding in fluid secretions (sebum/sweat).  Skin is therefore naturally drier in the winter.

Summer – skin continuously releases the same fluids in an attempt to keep us cool.  Summer skin is therefore oilier during warmer summer months.
