Protect your pets while at the beach

Friday, June 22nd, 2012

It officially Summer and it is time for some fun in the sun. When you think about sun protection for your family do not forget you furry family members. Like you, your dog and cat is affected by the sun’s ultraviolet rays. Purchase a product like SolarShade SPF 45 that will protect your whole family. This broad spectrum sun protection product means that it blocks both UVA & UVB rays. The main ingredient in SolarShade SPF 45 is Titanium Dioxide not Zinc or Salicylates. Zinc is toxic to dogs attacking their red blood cells while cats have a negative reaction to Salicylates. Featured in our photo is Mango of Delray Beach, FL. Before she enjoys her daily swim Mango waits patiently while the SolarShade SPF 45 is applied to her skin. Now she is ready to chase the fish.

Do I continue Face Peels in the Summer?

Monday, June 4th, 2012

We have received an email from one of our loyal customers asking if she can continue her skin care program with Peels during the summer. The answer is Yes, you should not stop your regular skin care program. It is true the sun is stronger in the summer but there are several ways to combat the summer sun while continuing your skin regimen.  You work all year on your skin and there is no need to give up for a few months in the summer and start over in the fall.

We have a few suggestions for you to consider:

1)      Each day continue applying your broad spectrum sunscreen of 30+ or more and reapply after swimming or sweating.

2)      Seek the shade or an Umbrella on a beach or pool day.

3)      Wear sun protection fabrics. Abella is a big supporter and owner of several Tilley hats that offer fabrics and stylish hats with ultraviolet protection. (

4)      Try to avoid going into the sun during the hottest time of the day.

If you have any skin care questions please feel free to email and we will gladly respond promptly.
