How to prevent your skin from drying out this summer

Friday, July 27th, 2012

As you indulge in the summer weather your skin takes the abuse from all angles. Identify potential triggers as to why your skin is drying out. Let’s solve this concern today!
Trigger One – Sun Exposure
We find ourselves flocking to the beach or pool to get tan, but prolonged sun exposure will dry your skin out quickly.
Trigger Two – Sweating
Our body cools itself by sweating in the summer. We find ourselves washing our faces more often and removing the skins natural oils.
Trigger Three – Swimming
During the hot summer months jumping into water is always a quick solution to cool off. Prolonged swimming in the ocean with salt or in a pool with chlorine will breakdown the lipid barrier in our skin leaving the skin dry.

To combat these triggers we suggest having on hand a light weight moisturizer with ingredients that improve the moisture in your skin.  The Abella Facial Moisturizer™ Replenishing Formula with Apple Stem Cells is a great product with many benefits and ingredients that will keep your skin from drying out.

Benefits of Apple Stem Cells:
– Repairs damaged skin through a continuous regeneration of new skin cells
– Promotes the natural growth of skin stem cells to significantly reduce and prevent the visible signs of aging
– Protects from the breakdown of collagen and elastin caused by UV damage

Ingredients that collaborate to provide superior results are Aloe Vera Extract, Alfa Bisabolol (Chamomile), Co-Q10, Cucumber Extract, Glycerin, Green Tea Extract, Hyaluronic Acid, Saccharide Isomerate (Pentavitin) and Squalane Oil.

Post Laser in the Heat of the Summer while in the Big Apple

Wednesday, July 18th, 2012

On Tuesday July 10th at 2:30 in the afternoon I had non-ablative laser for my veins around my nose and also laser to tighten the skin on my lower eye lid at A Gentle Solution located in Park Avenue in New York City. Most people would be nervous to have laser in the summer and especially on my skin type. I have brown Latin skin, in the medical field known as type 4. But I had a protocol ready to fight the heat and I completely trust the skills of Jackie Enright, the paramedical Esthetician who did my treatment. Following my laser treatment I immediately applied my sun protection ColorShade SPF 30+ and wore my elegant Tilley hat SPF 50. I used the gentle Dual Cleanser when I washed my face. Here I am a week later very confident with the results and happy to report my positive experience.
