Rosacea Awareness

Monday, August 11th, 2008

Rosacea is a facial skin disorder that occurs in all ethnic groups. It can be commonly associated with redness or acne-like appearances mainly on the cheeks, forehead, chin, and nose.

Diagnosing Rosacea can be difficult due to the similarities in appearance to acne.  Rosacea typically starts when adults are in there early 30’s. When treating this skin disease it is important to know how to properly care for your skin. Most facial treatments such as scrubs or any abrasive facial products can cause the disease to flare up.  Masks and hot mist/steam can also be harmful to the skin. It is recommended to focus on treatments that calm the skin. Start with a gentle cleanser that will calm inflammation, the right moisturizer, and sun protection (physical sunblock).

This is our first post. We know this is unconventional for a skin care company but we felt it would allow us to get to know our customers.  Please feel free to leave a comment or any questions. We want this Blog to be a communication link between us and our customers in a informal manner. We look forward to hearing from you.
